Albany Riverside Cemetery was established on land donated by Walter and Thomas Monteith and platted on a small tract near the west end of Walter Monteith's land. It was formally deeded for cemetery purposes in the 1860s and previously used by public consent.
The first burial of record is George W. Hughes, son of George and Sarah Hughes, November 12, 1847.
The Cemetery is comprised of four former cemeteries platted in 1937: Albany Cemetery (Section A), Riverside Cemetery (Section B), City Cemetery (Section C), and Parkview Addition (Section D). There are over 5,000 graves within its 9.5 acres.
Riverside Cemetery has spaces available for cremation interment also a Remembrance Wall where your loved one's name can be engraved. Email us at info@albanyriversidecemetery.com for more information.
